Nashville’s ISA Certified Arborist

Certified Arborist Tennessee

Lee Rumble is Community Tree Preservation’s on-staff, Certified Arborist (SO-6435A). He obtained his certification from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) in 2010, yet, he began his career with Community Tree Preservation in 2001. Successful certification (and recertification) from the ISA requires that arborists have a successful track record of practical field experience, as well as an educational background in many areas of arboriculture. Through the ISA’s certification program, you can be assured that Certified Arborists are constantly obtaining new knowledge, and following the most up to date arboricultural practices.

Lee’s arborist certification would be the tip of the iceberg for him though. Following successful completion of the ISA Certified Arborist Exam in 2010 (and three successful recertifications since), Lee soon discovered that his interests in tree biology were broadening; he continued to learn more about trees – following up with an A.S. in Horticulture (2014), a B.S. in Plant and Soil Science (2016), and a M.S. in Biology (2019).

Receiving these additional educational milestones demonstrates that Lee has a true desire to learn and better understand the trees he works with daily. He is dedicated to providing proper tree care to Nashville property owners. As a self-proclaimed learner and educator, Lee continually stresses the importance of proper arboricultural techniques—no matter the size or species of tree. Whether discussing pruning, planting, diagnosing tree issues, or developing plans on how to take down large trees in tight quarters (when necessary), Lee strives to help property owners better understand the importance of their trees, ensuring that all possible options have been reviewed, allowing you to make the best decision for tree care.

Why Hire an Arborist

In the state of Tennessee (population 6.7 million; U.S. Census Bureau (2018)), only 141 ISA Certified Arborists exist (and only 25 of these are in the Nashville area). So, the likelihood of you consulting with an ISA Certified Arborist prior to beginning work are unlikely. Hiring a Certified Arborist helps take some of the guesswork out of tree care. Certified Arborists are bound to providing you with a trustworthy assessment of trees on your property. Certified Arborists can often better detect tree issues and assess overall tree health. From there, you, along with a Certified Arborist, can determine the best steps to maximize tree health while increasing the aesthetics (and monetary value) of your landscape.

Trees deserve a long and healthy life, and bring both natural beauty and value to your yard. So, do not trust your yard’s greatest asset (i.e, your trees) to just any “tree trimmer”. If you have trees that are in decline, dead, or storm-damaged, it is crucial to receive an accurate assessment of the tree from a certified professional. Our ISA Certified Arborist will help advise you whether services are needed. Safety in arboriculture is a primary consideration that should not be taken lightly.
